Ian Linaker is the Chief Executive of Galileo Group, the UK parent company of Galileo Watermark.
Ian left his senior leadership role at one of the world’s most renowned, London based consultancy firms to follow his dream of bringing disruptive innovation to the market. Ian’s consultancy experience leading strategic reviews and business turnaround projects across the UK, USA and Europe gave him the grounding needed to set up a challenger retail brand in the UK in 2012, as a market test to deliver disruption to the industry. After leading the brand to rapid growth in consumer retail with listings in premium stores such as John Lewis, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason, Waitrose and Barney’s and Bloomingdale’s in the US, Ian turned his attention to the delivering brand growth in the airline and hospitality sector.
Ian’s no-compromise approach to design, customer service and quality meant that the branded amenities were quickly launched onboard by world leading carriers such as Etihad Airways and British Airways. It was during this time, that Ian established Galileo Group, a boutique group of companies aimed at delivering greater innovation and competitiveness in the aviation amenities market. In 2016, Ian lead the Private Equity backed acquisition of Watermark Products, one of the oldest and most respected airline suppliers in the industry, having been established in 1980. Combining the two businesses within the group to create Galileo Watermark, it has quickly become one of the market leaders across the hospitality industry, following two years of rapid restructuring and turnaround of the Watermark business.
